Helping Rwanda

This is a coffee with a bittersweet story. My Uncle Dick put me in touch with his friend, Robert Crow in Georgia, who sent us our first bag of Rwanda beans from the Gashonga cooperative over a year ago.

It is truly  a great coffee.  Rwanda produces the world’s finest coffee beans. Its volcanic soil, high altitude and plentiful rain are ideal conditions for growing specialty single origin Arabica beans.  I am so happy to know that Rwanda today is making progres thanks to the many efforts of Mr. Crowe, Land of a Thousand Hills and the many churches involved.

It’s always a good feeling helping others. It’s  better seeing the fruit of the seeds you’ve sown. I’m only making a small difference. But with your  support when you order enough  Rwanda coffee, I can order more beans from  the Rwanda cooperatives. Extra monies are used to micro finance loans to the widow farmers of a terrible genocide (civil war) that killed millions in 1994. There are many causes out there we would love to help with.  God can only guide us in this one – one day at a time..one bean at a time.    We even came up with a special label for Rwanda. You can find these   beans at Thyme Market in downtown Culpeper, Virginia.  These are all medium roasted, and we are open to custom roasting .
