Smiling athletes eagerly await the start

WOW, over 35 Culpeper residents will storm through Mountain Run Lake park in Culpeper, VA, Sunday Morning to compete in the 5th Annual Culpeper Sprint triathlon produced by Setup Events. The number of total athletes has exceeded 700, all charity slots have been sold out.   This year there is only one event in Culpeper.  Setup events dropped the sprint tri in June.  This will be event # 12 of 21 events, halfway through the season all !!

Athletes will start with a 750 m swim in Mountain Run Lake, transition to their bikes for a 16 mile rolling ride in rural Culpeper County :)  and finish with a 5k run – they will face the famed Montelago hill again ! yeah!   Race packet pickup is at the Bike Stop on Saturday from 2 p.m to 6 p.m, and again early early Sunday morning at the Park  6 – 7:30 a.m.. Get there early!

USAT rule for wetsuits: 77.9 degrees and below wetsuits will be allowed…78 and above NOT allowed or else you will be DQ’d !!   At this time in the summer I don’t even think about a wetsuit !!   Good luck everyone- I  Will post your results in here after the weekend!!       If you have cool pictures to share ….let me know !  Ok..So who’s not racing below?  Post correct  answer in comment box below and win FREE COFFEE!!  Up to 3 winners will be awarded!!!  WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!  GOOD LUCK!
