The Bike Stop in downtown Culpeper is hosting a Ladies Night Out this Friday, December 11. It was a great success last year and really got many women pumped for another season of training, so come out and meet old and new friends.  Bring something for the local food bank.  Anyone may come.  Free clinics and fun for all.

Wow, what a surprise to see Susan Bartholomew Williams in Culpeper !   Susan  was the USA’s triathlon Bronze Medalist at the 2004 Athens Olympics. When I first found out that Susan would be racing in Culpeper   I couldn’t help thinking when we first met years ago. …maybe 6 years ago  .. In any case it was before she was picked for the US Olympic Team to Athens .   Our daughter, Caren had just graduated from Culpeper County HS and we decided to take our first ever Carnival Cruise …

I wanted to visit the Angels Foundation website and discovered a great video posted on the  history of  the Angel Triathlon in Lynchburg, Virginia.  I just competed in this a couple of weeks ago –   The families of  Dr.George and Nancy Broman (former Physician in Culpeper, Va- and whom “Broman Field” is named after )  founded this event after the passing of their grand daughter, Brittany in 2002 as a result of a car accident.  What a beautiful way to memorialize this young lady.  Her dad loved the sport …
